SHORT BIO:
Olivia Welch is based on Gadigal Land. She is Exhibitions Manager at Museums & Galleries of NSW, developing touring exhibitions and associated sector development, and a Co-Chair of the Firstdraft Board of Directors. Olivia holds a First-Class Honours degree, Art History and Theory and Master of Curating and Cultural Leadership from UNSW. Olivia worked in exhibitions at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon, Portugal (2015–2018) and MAY SPACE, Sydney (2009– 2018). Recent professional development includes mentorships with 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art (2020-2022), Ballarat International Foto Biennale (2021), and This Is Who We Are, a UK-Australian program for creative women of colour (2022-2023). Recently, Olivia co-curated Slow Churn at The Condensery, Queensland (2022) with Rachel Arndt.
